Mumbai: NCP (SP) president Sharad Pawar on Monday asked CM Devendra Fadnavis to ensure the safety and security of elected representatives who are leading the agitation in Beed district against the murder of sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh. In a letter to Fadnavis, Pawar said legislators Jeetendra Awhad, Sandeep Kshirsagar, Abhimany Pawar, Prakash Solanke, Suresh Dhas, and Beed MP Bajrang Sonawane participated in a big protest rally in Beed district a few days ago. These leaders asked the collector and SP to arrest all the accused. “All these leaders mentioned names of the accused and co-accused in the murder… Even the media took the lead in exposing the accused. Under such circumstances, the possibility of a threat to the lives of these politicians cannot be not ruled out. Govt should ensure the safety and security of all the politicians who raised their voices.” he stated.
