MUMBAI: Women and Child Development minister Aditi Tatkare expressed her belief that by making maximum use of solar energy and saving fuel in daily use, the goals of energy security, sustainable development and environmental protection for the future can be achieved.
In collaboration with the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and the State Government, awareness activities are being implemented to protect the environment by using green energy.
Under this, Saksham 2024-25 (Sanarkhat Sampath Mahotsav) has been organized from February 14 to February 28. This festival was inaugurated by Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare at Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan. Minister Ms. Tatkare was speaking on this occasion.
Bharat Petroleum Corporation Business Head Rahul Tandon , Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Chief Managing Director Debashish Basak , BPCL State Head Rakesh Sinha , Indian Oil Managing Director Abhijit Gite , GAIL India Ltd Deputy Director Mohammad Shafi Awan , Senior Manager Deepak Wagh , Ritesh Jadhav along with officers and students were present at the program.
On this occasion, the message of fuel conservation was given to the children through a street play by the theatre group. Also, a collective pledge was taken for fuel conservation. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis wished the festival.
Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare said that the Government of India has set a target of making 20 percent ethanol blend in fuel mandatory by 2025. This will help reduce the use of fossil fuels. Our goal should be to increase renewable energy security and create a pollution-free environment.
Even at home, we use gas and electricity in the right way. By making small efforts like using solar panels on buildings and turning off vehicles at traffic lights, we can save fuel and achieve sustainable development, said Women and Child Development Minister Tatkare.
State Coordinator Umesh Kulkarni said that from February 14 to 28, oil marketing companies will be implementing a campaign across the state to create awareness about conservation and for sustainable development and environmental protection.
In this, awareness will be created about the importance and benefits of fuel conservation by reaching out to many people, including students, youth , drivers , cleaners , employees , farmers , residential institutions , gram panchayats , NGOs.
Various fuel conservation activities will be implemented to encourage the adoption of fuel efficient technologies and practices. The message of fuel conservation will be conveyed through various activities like cyclothon, walkathon , painting competition , fuel efficient driving competition.
