MUMBAI: An FIR was registered against a patient’s kin for assaulting a watchman at Raksha Hospital in Malad on Friday. Police said the accused has a prior criminal record.
On Friday, the accused’s wife had overdosed on sleeping pills. He brought her to Raksha Hospital for treatment.
“He started to yell at the watchman as he was taking a bit of time to open the door. The argument snowballed into violence when the accused snatched a set of keys that the watchman was carrying and assaulted him on the head. The watchman had to be administered stitches for the wound,” said a police officer.
“We have lodged a complaint with the Malvani police station. No one was injured apart from a guard. A couple of doctors were verbally threatened. The person apologised to the hospital,” said Dr Pranav Kabra, head of Raksha Hospital.
Police did not disclose the name of the accused.
