Vasai: The Achole cops have arrested a 37-year-old man who posed as technical expert from the Customs department and sexually assaulted a 42year old woman under the pretext of marriage. The imposter also fleecing her of over Rs 1 crore promising to buy her a house.
Court has granted seven-day police custody of the accused after he was produced in Vasai court on Feb 17. The accused is jobless but to support his fake identity, he drove a high-end SUV car and also employed a driver. Police have also arrested the driver in whose account the money was transferred.
In her complaint to the police, the victim said came in contact with the man in June in Vasai. The accused is job-less but only to maintain his fake facade he used a high end SUV car, along with a driver. The cops have also arrested the driver on whose account the main accused had told the victim to transfer the money.
Sources have confirmed the accused has cheated another person in Nalasopara. “We are now investigating if there are more victims,” said PSI Mangesh Vadne of Achole Police station. —
