MUMBAI: An IndiGo aircraft operating between Goa and Mumbai faced a false bomb threat on Monday evening, prompting heightened security measures.
The flight 6E 5101 was directed to an isolation bay upon arrival at Mumbai airport, where all passengers were safely evacuated, according to an airline representative’s statement issued on Tuesday.
“All standard operating procedures were followed and the aircraft was positioned back to the terminal post clearance from relevant authorities,” the spokesperson said.
The carrier withheld information regarding passenger count.
According to an airport authority on Tuesday, they discovered a note aboard the aircraft containing a message about an alleged bomb threat.
The Mumbai airport initiated a complete emergency protocol at approximately 10.30 pm, which was later lifted at 11.30pm.
Officials confirmed that the threat was determined to be false.
