MUMBAI: Deputy CM Eknath Shinde on Monday did not attend a meeting chaired by CM Devendra Fadnavis to review flagship schemes in the social sector, including the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, once again giving rise to speculation of a rift between the two. Dy CM Ajit Pawar was present for the review meeting held in the CM’s war room.
Sena functionaries said that Dy CM Shinde was in Thane and the review meeting was not on his schedule. CM Fadnavis gave instructions to speed up work and complete the target of houses built by taking the help of the Social Responsibility Fund. CM Fadnavis reviewed the flagship schemes of the Central and state govts in the social sector in the war room and gave instructions to speed up these schemes.
On Sunday, Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut claimed a Shinde Sena MLA had told him Shinde was “not ready to come out of the pain of being humiliated” (by not being made CM).
