Mumbai: Police have apprehended a 35-year-old dumper driver for operating his vehicle whilst intoxicated on the Eastern Express Highway (EEH) in Mulund (East) on Saturday afternoon. According to Navghar police in Mulund (East), the driver, identified as Nirmal Prajapati, was intercepted by patrolling officers after his heavy vehicle grazed a passenger-filled bus.
The incident occurred at 12.30pm beneath the Navghar Road flyover on EEH, with the driver attempting to escape. “Prajapati was caught after police constables called for help and sub-inspectors Madhav Lakhade and Yogesh Salunkhe reached the spot and took his custody,” said a police officer of the Navghar police station.
