Volvo has launched the much-anticipated facelifted XC90 in India, priced at Rs 1.03 crore, ex-showroom. It is worth noting that these are introductory prices and could be revised anytime. As for the changes, this SUV, which competes with several models including the likes of Audi Q7, gets subtle design tweaks, a host of new tech features, and more. It also competes with the Mercedes-Benz GLE and BMW X5.
Available in a single, fully-loaded variant, the refreshed XC90 continues to be powered by a mild-hybrid petrol engine. Here’s a look at what’s changed.
2025 XC90 Facelift: Design
Speaking of changes in the department of design, notable updates include a revised front grille with diagonal slats, a new bumper layout, and sleeker ‘Thor’s Hammer’ LED headlights with refreshed detailing. The rear section also sees a slightly refreshed bumper along with the addition of a chrome strip spanning the width of the vehicle. On the side profile, it looks pretty much similar to the outgoing model but now rides on newly designed 20-inch alloy wheels, complementing its refined yet rugged appeal.
Furthermore, Volvo has also expanded the XC90’s colour palette with the introduction of a new Mulberry Red shade, alongside existing options like Onyx Black, Crystal White, Denim Blue, Bright Dusk, and Vapour Grey.
2025 XC90 Facelift: Features
Inside, the cabin layout remains majorly the same, save for few upgrades here and there. The upholstery now uses sustainable materials. The biggest change comes in the form of a bigger, 11.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Besides that, other notable features include panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, ventilated and massaging power-adjustable seats, a four-zone climate control system, and a Bowers & Wilkins audio setup. It also gets a digital instrument cluster, a head-up display, rear captain seats, and more.
In terms of safety, the SUV is equipped with Level 2 ADAS, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and collision mitigation support. Other safety highlights include a 360-degree camera, hill start assist, hill descent control, an electronic parking brake, and parking assistance.
2025 XC90 Facelift: Engine
Under the hood, the 2025 XC90 continues to be powered by a 2.0-litre mild-hybrid turbo-petrol engine that produces 250 hp and 360 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, sending power to all four wheels through Volvo’s AWD system. Performance figures remain unchanged, with the SUV capable of sprinting from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.7 seconds. The facelifted Volvo XC90 will begin reaching customers in March 2025.
