NEW DELHI: Team India superstar Virat Kohli on Friday turned heads on social media with his latest hairdo, just days before the Boxing Day Test which starts from December 26 in Melbourne.
After the drawn Test in Brisbane, the Indian team recently arrived in Melbourne and the new Kohli haircut on Friday created an instant buzz on the internet.
The stylistic transformation was shared on X (formally Twitter), garnering admiration from fans.
With Kohli’s dynamic personality extending beyond cricket, his fresh look has further fueled anticipation for the upcoming contest.

After an underwhelming series performance—aside from his stunning century in the first Test’s second innings—he is expected to reclaim his peak form for the remainder of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
As the series stands at 1-1, India must overcome challenges on both ends of the pitch to keep their hopes alive for the 2025 ICC World Test Championship (WTC) Final.
A draw in the Gabba Test earlier this week—heavily affected by rain—kept the teams tied, intensifying the upcoming contests at Melbourne and Sydney.
While Kohli prepares to bolster the team’s middle order, India must rectify glaring issues, including an inconsistent top-order performance and over-reliance on Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling heroics.
A robust Australian pace attack and unforgiving pitch conditions make the next two Tests critical.
India currently sit third in the WTC standings. Securing wins in both remaining Tests would propel them to 60.53% in percentage points, securing a spot in the final regardless of other results.
However, the road narrows drastically if India falter:

  • 2-1 Victory: Australia must defeat Sri Lanka 1-0, or South Africa must lose to Pakistan by 1-0.
  • 1-1 Draw or Worse: India risks being overtaken, relying on Sri Lanka or South Africa’s missteps.
  • Loss of Series (1-2 or Worse): India’s chances vanish completely.

For now, Kohli’s refreshed mindset and appearance symbolize Team India’s readiness to fight as they aim for victory on one of cricket’s grandest stages.
