Mumbai: A late-night accident near Fortis Hospital on Mulund-Goregaon Link Road claimed the life of 34-year-old Amruta Vishal Poonamia. She was traveling with her husband, Vishal, and their two-year-old daughter, Hazel, on a two-wheeler when their vehicle was struck by a truck around 11:00pm.
The collision caused Amruta, who was riding pillion, to fall onto the road, where she was fatally run over by the truck’s rear wheel. Vishal and Hazel were unhurt. The family was en route to a gathering in Tambe Nagar, Mulund West, at the time of the tragedy. Mulund police have filed a case against the unidentified truck driver. They pointed out the absence of CCTV cameras at the accident site, which has hindered efforts to trace the vehicle and driver. tnn
