Tata Motors boosts scrappage capacity to 1L units.

Tata Motors has expanded its sustainable vehicle recycling infrastructure with the launch of its latest registered vehicle scrapping facility (RVSF) in Guwahati, Assam.

Tata Motors’s new vehicle scrapping facility in Assam: All you need to know

Named “Re.Wi.Re – Recycle with Respect,” this facility can dismantle up to 15,000 end-of-life vehicles annually, further expanding the company’s nationwide scrappage capacity to 1 lakh vehicles per year.
This new facility, operated in partnership with Axom Platinum Scrappers, marks Tata Motors’ seventh scrappage unit in India, joining existing centers in Jaipur, Bhubaneswar, Surat, Chandigarh, Delhi NCR, and Pune. Designed to handle both passenger and commercial vehicles of all brands, the facility uses eco-friendly, paperless processes for safe vehicle disposal.

Why vehicle scrapping matters for you

For vehicle owners, scrapping an old, unfit vehicle comes with multiple benefits: Owners can receive significant discounts on the ex-showroom price of a new vehicle upon scrapping their old one. Besides that, submitting a certificate of deposit from the scrappage center eliminates registration fees for the new vehicle.
Some states offer concessions on road tax when purchasing a new vehicle after scrapping an old one. Furthermore, scrapping old vehicles reduces tailpipe emissions and makes way for cleaner, more fuel-efficient models. The process also helps recover low-cost raw materials for the automotive, steel, and electronics industries.
