Sena ex-neta offers money for wanted BJP MLA son

Kalyan: An ex-Shiv Sena leader, Mahesh Gaikwad, on Tuesday expressed unhappiness that 11 months after BJP MLA Ganpat Gaikwad allegedly fired at him inside a police station, three accused persons in the case have not been caught yet. He has now released posters of the three absconding accused, including Ganpat’s son Vaibhav, and has appealed to the public that whoever provides information to the police about the ‘absconding accused’ will receive a reward of Rs 25,000 for each accused, from him.
Mahesh has stated in the poster that if the police, who are “under pressure as the accused are from BJP” in this case, nab the accused, he will donate this reward amount to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
In Feb last year, BJP MLA Ganpat Gaikwad allegedly fired at least six bullets at Mahesh Gaikwad and his associate Rahul Patil inside Hill Line police station, in which Mahesh was badly injured.
Five, including the BJP MLA, were arrested while three, including Ganpat’s son Vaibhav, are wanted.
Three of the arrested have got bail. Mahesh alleges that because of the BJP govt, the three absconding accused “connected with BJP” are not caught by police. —Pradeep Gupta
