Thane: A school bus suffered serious damage after it suddenly went up in flames while it was parked outside the campus of a prominent school on Pokhran Road-2 in the early hours of Saturday, officials informed. As the bus was empty, there were no injuries. The incident raised questions about safety and maintenance issues. Yasin Tadvi, in charge of the regional disaster management cell in Thane, informed that a team of local rescue staff rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze before it could engulf other parked vehicles, he said. tnn
