Former “Neighbors” actress and Youtuber Scarlet Vas is expecting a baby with her husband and singer Tayo Ricci. The couple, who got married in Greece last September, face online criticism due to their step-sibling relationship.
Vas and Ricci met as teenagers in Melbourne and became step-siblings when their parents formed a relationship. They insist they are not blood-related. Their relationship became public in 2021 through a video titled, “I fell in love with my bf’s best friend… who happens to be my stepbro”. Vas maintains the video was a “skit” but confirms their decade-long relationship is genuine, New York Post reported.
The couple lived in the US for five years before returning to Australia. Vas left “Neighbors” in 2018 to further pursue acting. The pandemic hampered her acting career, forcing the couple to become content creators. They gained a large following by posting videos, many featuring their relationship.
Vas addressed the online criticism saying, “Honestly, it doesn’t affect us because we have each other… I don’t really read our comments section, but if I do, I actually laugh. We find trolls very entertaining. If something’s really negative, we might comment back, we find it is quite a good disarming tactic.”
While the couple acknowledges the controversy surrounding their relationship, they prefer to keep the specifics of their family connection private.
Vas is also an OnlyFans content creator and plans to continue working after the birth of her daughter.
