NEW DELHI: Mumbai Police on Tuesday recorded the statement of a woman from West Bengal whose Aadhar card was used by the accused to purchase a SIM card.
The police team also recorded the statement of a relative of the accused who assisted in obtaining the Aadhar card from the woman.
The accused, identified as Mohd Shariful Islam Shehzad, entered the actor’s residence with the intention of committing theft and engaged in a violent confrontation with Saif Ali Khan, leaving the actor with stab wounds to his thoracic spine and other parts of his body.
Following the attack, Saif was immediately rushed to Lilavati Hospital for treatment.
Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis addressed the incident, urging against creating confusion regarding the case. He assured that the Mumbai Police are conducting a thorough investigation and will bring the case to its logical conclusion.
“In this case, the police are properly conducting an investigation. Police have almost everything related to the case. Police will take this case to its logical conclusion. And for your convenience, (media), our Mumbai Commissioner of Police is here; I will ask him, today or tomorrow or any day, to give you full details of the case,” the chief minister stated.
As part of the ongoing investigation, the Mumbai Police have collected Saif Ali Khan’s blood sample and clothes for further analysis. The police are working diligently to gather all relevant evidence and information related to the attack.
