Right bodies and Hindu saints launch protest in Tripura against arrest of ISKCON leader in Bangladesh

AGARTALA: Several civil right bodies and Hindu organisations have been protesting since Tuesday in front of Assistant High Commission office in Agartala demanding unconditional release of ISKCON leader and stop atrocities on Hindus.
Hundreds of Hindu saints held a protest rally in the city to press for their demands and assurance of security of minorities in Bangladesh. A group of civil society leaders called on Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh here and submitted a memorandum on the same demands while threatened to go for mass movement.
Meanwhile, Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Wednesday condemned the ongoing atrocities against Hindu minorities and Hindu leaders in Bangladesh.
He demanded a joint action to stop the attacks on the Hindu minorities in the neighbouring country. Reacting to the recent arrest of ISKCON member and prominent Hindu leader Swami Chinmoy Krishna Das and attacks on Hindu minorities Saha said, “Sanatan Dharma is the bearer of justice and values. History has witnessed that all those who tried to harm Sanatan Dharma have been wiped out.”
The Member of Parliament in Lok Sabha Biplab Kumar Deb has urged for urgent and joint international action to address this undemocratic and anti-humanitarian situation in Bangladesh.
“The ongoing attacks on Sanatani minorities, various religious institutions & Sanatani Gurus in Bangladesh are entirely undemocratic & an affront to basic human rights principles. I strongly condemn such incidents, completely based on narrow and vested interests, where Sanatani sentiments and human rights are violated,” said Deb.
