Ramp built on Malad FOB razed by BMC

Mumbai: BMC demolished a contentious ramp built on a pedestrian bridge over Marve creek that links Malvani to Evershine Nagar in Malad, on Friday. The demolition, was done by P North ward, after locals’ complaints and Union minister Piyush Goyal’s directions to act on priority, said locals. Evershine Nagar Residents Welfare Assn sought its removal, saying it was an unauthorised modification to a bridge built in 2009.Tajinder Singh Tiwana, president, BJP Yuva Morcha, said their demand gained backing after traffic police wrote to BMC for its removal, citing that it was not needed after opening of Mith Chowky flyover.
