‘Pushpa 2‘ is now on its way to become the highest grossing Indian movie ever. This title is owned by none other than ‘Baahubali 2‘ and that was in the pre-pandemic era. So, ‘Pushpa 2’ now coming close to beating the record of the Prabhas starrer, is indeed a big feat. What’s more surprising is that the Allu Arjun starrer has performed much better in Hindi than in Telugu.
The film has now entered its third week at the box office and on Friday it made Rs 13 crore net. This happened after the movie made Rs 264.8 Cr in its second week. Thus, the total collection of the film so far post Friday, now stands at Rs 1004.35 crore, according to Sacnilk. Out of this, just Rs 632 crore has come from the Hindi version and the Telugu version has made Rs 297.8 crore.
The film has already crossed the record of ‘Stree 2’, and ‘Jawan’. The collection of ‘Baahubali 2’ is Rs 1040 crore. And it is expected that ‘Pushpa 2’ will cross this number in the coming week. The upcoming Christmas and New Year holiday period will further benefit the movie and be crucial when it comes to its numbers. However, it will face competition from Varun Dhawan’s ‘Baby John’ and ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ as well. While ‘Pushpa 2’ distributors are in a fight with the distributors of ‘Baby John’ regarding the number of screens, one also cannot ignore ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ which might lure more footfalls as children have Christmas holidays and will flock to the theatres with their parents to see the film.
