Mumbai: In its recent meeting with Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the All India Plastics Manufacturers’ Association (AIPMA) proposed zero GST on plastic waste and recycling machinery to encourage recycling.
Arvind M Mehta, Chairman of AIPMA’s governing council, and other office bearers, demanded that GST on the conversion cost of recycled plastic granules should be brought down to 5% from 18% and sought a 20% subsidy to purchase capital equipment for recycling. tnn
