A total of 11 vintage cars accompanied the CM’s convoy during the event.
Motorists can now seamlessly travel from the Bandra-Worli Sea Link (BWSL) onto the Coastal Road without needing to detour onto Dr. Annie Besant Road. This section will be open to the public starting Monday.

Four new interchange arms—three at Worli and one at Haji Ali—were also inaugurated, providing connectivity to areas such as Worli, Prabhadevi, Lower Parel, and Lotus Junction.
From March 12, 2024, to December 31, 2024, approximately five million vehicles have used the Coastal Road.

The Mumbai Coastal Road project is being developed in phases, stretching from the southern tip of Mumbai at Nariman Point to the northern tip at Dahisar. Under the first phase, the Coastal Road Project (South) spans from Shamaldas Gandhi Marg (Princess Street flyover) to the Worli end of the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, covering a length of 10.58 km, with 94% of the construction completed to date. On average, 18,000 to 20,000 vehicles use this route daily.

The southern approach bridge was inaugurated on September 12, 2024, allowing northbound traffic through the South corridor bridge to reduce congestion. With the completion of the North corridor bridge, traffic can now flow in both directions.
The newly inaugurated bridge is 827 meters long. Its construction involved installing a bow-arch string girder beam weighing approximately 2,400 metric ton.
