Mumbai: After delays, the state’s CET cell, has finally released the counselling schedule for the third round of admissions for postgraduate medical courses.
The seat allotment list in the third round will be released on Saturday and students are given time to report to the allotted colleges till Feb 19.
The third allotment list was delayed by several days creating confusion among students as they were in a dilemma — whether to secure seats in other states or wait for the Maharashtra round. The list was delayed as the CET cell was waiting for an updated merit list from the National Board of Examinations. PG medical admissions have been marred with delays and confusion this year claimed aspirants.
While the Directorate General of Health Services’ Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) was to start the all-India stray vacancy round, it may have to be postponed too, as the seat matrix was released only on Friday evening. Around 2,500 seats are available for the stray vacancy round in the all-India process.
Parent representative Sudha Shenoy said that the MCC will have to postpone the stray vacancy round as the state’s third round will go on till Feb 19 and there are other states, where the reporting deadline is yet to get over.
