Nagpur: Leader of opposition in the legislative council Ambadas Danve on Tuesday said 6,740 farmers died by suicide in the state during the last tenure of the Mahayuti govt. He claimed the highest number of these farmer suicides recorded between July 1, 2022, and Nov 30, 2024, were reported from Nagpur and Amravati districts. He expressed concern over the “worsening” condition of farmers and accused govt of neglecting their issues. pti
