Electric two-wheeler manufacturer Ola Electric has launched its most affordable range of electric scooters in India, starting at just Rs 39,999, ex-showroom. At this price point, these are the most affordable scooters in the country, ICE or electric. The company has launched four new models, namely, Gig, Gig+, S1 Z, and the S1 Z+, with deliveries slated to commence from April and May 2025. The models can be booked for a nominal token amount of Rs 500. Here, let’s quickly take a look at what’s on offer.
Ola new affordable electric scooters: What’s on offer
The Ola Gig, designed for short-distance gig workers, features a removable battery and a range of 112 km. It features a removable 1.5 kWh battery, and a hub motor, propelling it to a top speed of 25 kmph. Riding on 12-inch wheels, the model will be available for B2B purchases and rentals.

The Gig+, suited for longer trips, offers up to 157 km with dual batteries. It offers a top speed of 45 kmph and comes with a 1.5 kWh removable single or dual battery option, providing an IDC-certified range of 81 km (157 km with dual batteries). Powered by a 1.5 kW hub motor, it is also available for B2B purchases and rentals.
Ola S1 Z electric scooter range: Battery, features and more
Besides these B2B-oriented offerings, the company has also launched the Ola S1 Z.. This is a personal-use electric scooter featuring dual removable 1.5 kWh batteries, offering an IDC-certified range of 75 km (146 km with two batteries) and a top speed of 70 kmph. Equipped with a 2.9 kW hub motor, it accelerates from 0-20 kmph in 1.8 seconds and 0-40 kmph in 4.8 seconds. Other highlights include a LCD display, physical key etc.
The Ola S1 Z+ sporting the same dual removable 1.5 kWh batteries, range, and top speed as the S1 Z, it adds 14-inch tyres for better stability.
