Though the identity of the NYC subway horror victim has not yet been identified, a CNN report claimed that the NYPD indicated that the adult woman who got burnt down inside the train probably had mobility issues. A walker was also found at the scene. The mobility issue explains why the victim did not run or seek help but got torched down.
Law enforcement said the woman appeared to be homeless contrary to the claims of some ‘Amelia Carter‘ going viral.

False claims of Amelia Carter being the victim

Social media was flooded with claims that 29-year-old PhD student Amelia Carter was the victim. An AI-generated image of a woman went viral raising questions as to why a PhD student would sleep inside a subway train.
NYPD has not revealed the identity of the victim but said she was an adult and probably a homeless woman who was sleeping inside the train with her blanket on. She had multiple layers of clothing which aided the fire to spread faster
Many social media users said the name of the woman was not being revealed as she was a victim of the Biden administration’s lenient border policy. Accused Sebastian Zapeta was an illegal migrant from Guatemala who crossed over to the US in 2018. A week later, he was deported but he sneaked into the US again.

Accused Sebastian Zapeta has no memory of the attack

The woman did not know the killer When the killer boarded the train in Queens, she was already on it, and they rode the same train for the long journey to its terminus in Coney Island.
