Mumbai: An FIR was registered against a 56-year-old man and his wife for the murder of his nephew and for assaulting another relative at Bandra West late on Saturday. The deceased, Kamran Faisal, 33, was an autorickshaw driver. Of the accused, Habib-ur-Rehman Khan was arrested while his wife, Sana Khan, 36, has been served a notice. Faisal’s relative, Siddiqin Sayyad, 18, suffered injuries in the incident.
Police said Khan runs a food stall. Sana is his second wife. In the past, a few non-cognisable offences were registered against him. On multiple occasions, police gave him a warning. Faisal and Khan lived close to each other near the G7 (Gaiety-Galaxy) cinema complex.
Around 10pm on Saturday, an altercation broke out between Khan and Faisal. In a fit of rage, Khan allegedly struck Faisal on the head with a bamboo stick. Sana allegedly assaulted Sayyad. “After Faisal collapsed, the family moved him to Bhabha Hospital in Bandra. Faisal suffered serious head injuries and succumbed to them. The hospital immediately informed us,” said an official from Bandra police.
