KALYAN: Two people were injured after two neighbours got into a fight over a small dispute in a posh Ajmera building in Kalyan.
In this case, on the complaint of Dheeraj Deshmukh, the police registered a case of assault against Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation’s manager Akhilesh Shukla, his wife, and 8 to 10 unidentified persons. Meanwhile, on Shukla’s complaint, a case was also registered against the Deshmukh family.
According to the police, the Deshmukh family was having dinner at home when they found that the Shukla family was having a dispute with the family living next door, so they tried to intervene.
During this, there was an argument between the Deshmukh family and the Shukla family. After this, it is alleged that Shukla called some of his acquaintances and beat up Deshmukh family badly. In this, Dheeraj Deshmukh’s brother, Abhijeet Deshmukh, suffered severe injuries to his head, due to which he was admitted to Mumbai’s Sion Hospital.
In this case, the Deshmukh family alleges that the police initially protected Shukla.
Shukla’s relatives said that their family members were being harassed for many days and that the Deshmukh family started the fight first.
Amarnath Waghmode, Senior Police Inspector of Khadakpada police station, said, “In this case, both families have made allegations of assault by both family members against each other. Hence, we have registered a cross complaint and we are checking CCTV footage to find the reality before taking any further action.”
