The four-laning of the 466km Goa Highway in Maharashtra is expected to be completed by May-June 2025, cutting travel time by half. Work is pending on a few bypasses, underpasses and flyovers in towns like Mangaon, Indapur, Pali, Lanja, Kolad and Chiplun. Because of delays, the project cost has ballooned to Rs 7,300 crore.

Reduction in Mumbai-Goa road travel time from 12 hours to 6 hours
COMPLETION
By monsoon, the road stretches will be complete
WHAT WON’T BE THERE
Few bypasses, underpasses and flyovers in towns like Mangaon, Indapur, Lanja, Pali, Kolad and Chiplun
The 84km Panvel-Indapur stretch is being developed by NHAI.
The remaining is being widened by the PWD under the Union ministry of road transport and highways.
