VASAI: A 47-year-old school teacher collapsed and died during the farewell function of class X students. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. The teacher, Sanjay Lohar, worked at Lal Bahadur Shastri High school, Manor.
The school principal, Mahesh Bhoir, said that Lohar gave the vote of thanks during the function and was standing near the podium when he suddenly collapsed and fell on his face. “We immediately took him to the hospital where the doctors declared him dead on arrival, due to cardiac arrest”, said Bhoir. “Sanjay has been teaching in this school for the last 27 years, since 1997”, he added. He taught English and Social Studies to the students of STD 5 to Std 7.
