Mumbai: Local train disruption on Central Railway; commuters inconvenienced

MUMBAI: A goods train locomotive failure near Asangaon on the Kalyan-Kasara section led to disruption in local and outstation services on Central Railway for nearly an hour this afternoon.
While a Kasara local was cancelled around 12.30pm, two long distance trains were diverted. The incident also affected the movement of other local trains and there were crowds on platform.
Due to Christmas holiday, trains are being operated on Sunday timetable and this has further impacted commuters who are travelling by local trains today.
