MG Windsor EV prices hiked: This variant now costs more, details

MG Motor has implemented a price revision for its Windsor EV in India, affecting only the top-spec Essence Pro trim. The flagship model now costs Rs 18.31 lakh, ex-showroom, marking a hike of Rs 21,000. Prices for the remaining variants, Excite, Exclusive, and Essence – remain unchanged. The Essence Pro variant features a larger 52.9 kWh battery pack, delivering a claimed range of 449 km on a single charge — a significant leap over the 332 km range of the 38 kWh battery found in lower variants. Power output remains consistent across the range, with a 136 hp motor pushing out 200 Nm of torque. In addition to the upgraded battery, the Essence Pro offers a host of premium features. These include dual-tone ivory-black upholstery, a powered tailgate, and advanced charging tech like vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) functionality. Charging options span from a 7.4kW AC charger, which takes roughly 9.5 hours for a full top-up, to a 60kW DC fast charger that juices the car from 20% to 80% in just 50 minutes.

The exterior receives a fresh touch with new 18-inch alloy wheels and three additional paint options: Celadon Blue, Glaze Red, and Aurora Silver. Inside, the cabin continues to offer a 15.6-inch touchscreen, an 8.8-inch digital driver’s display, a panoramic glass roof, a 9-speaker Infinity audio system, wireless charging, a 360-degree camera, six airbags, and an electronic parking brake. The biggest upgrade, however, comes in the form of ADAS Level 2. The system now includes adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, front collision warning, and intelligent headlamp control. Buyers also have the option to choose the BaaS (Battery as a Service) plan, which brings the effective ex-showroom price of the Essence Pro down to Rs 13.31 lakh, along with a usage-based cost of Rs 4.5 per km.
