Maruti Suzuki India has announced a price hike across its model lineup, with an increase of up to Rs 32,500 set to take effect from February 1, 2025. The move comes as the automaker looks to offset the impact of rising input costs and operational expenses. This is the second recent price hike from the manufacturer, following the one from January when most manufacturers revised the pricing for their portfolios.

Among the affected models is the popular compact sedan, the Dzire, which will see a price increase of up to Rs 10,000. The latest generation of the Dzire was introduced in 2024 with a starting price of Rs 6.79 lakh, while the top-spec ZXI+ AT variant is currently priced at Rs 10.14 lakh, ex-showroom. The sedan competes with the Honda Amaze, which also launched its new generation last year, with prices ranging from Rs 7.99 lakh to Rs 10.99 lakh, ex-showroom, for the top-end ZX CVT trim. Notably, the prices for the new Amaze will also be revised after the carmaker announced an extension of the introductory prices period until January end.
Maruti Dzire, Honda Amaze: Engine comparison
Under the hood, the new Dzire is powered by the 1.2-litre three-cylinder Z Series petrol engine. This unit delivers 80 bhp and 112 Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the Amaze is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol motor that makes 89 hp and 110 Nm of torque.
