THANE: Mumbra police have arrested 20-year-old man for allegedly sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl and throwing her from a window of bathroom duct late on Monday night.
The police said that the accused at a 9:30 PM the accused allegedly lured the minor with toys to his apartment in sexually assaulted her, and threw her from a bathroom window, said Anil Shinde, senior inspector of Mumbra police station.
Police Sub-Inspector Vinayak Mane led the investigation team that responded immediately. After questioning the neighbours and inspecting apartments in the building, officers identified and detained the accused , who reportedly confessed to the crime.
The suspect, originally from Bihar’s Baka . Police said that their investigation team for solvd the case within 12 hours.
Senior officials visited the crime scene and legal proceedings against the accused are underway.
