Mumbai: “Providing pristine bus stations, immaculate station premises, and hygienic restroom facilities is a fundamental obligation of the MSRTC administration. Our objective is to transform all bus stations across the state through the Hindu Hriday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray clean and beautiful bus station campaign,” said newly appointed Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik.
In contemporary times, “cleanliness” serves as the cornerstone of any enterprise. Hence, offering passengers spotless, aesthetically pleasing bus stations, station premises, and restrooms will be a priority, he said. Furthermore, he stated that the state bus corporation will endeavour to maintain impeccable rest facilities for drivers, conductors, and mechanical staff at each depot.
During his visit to a few bus stations at Panvel and Khopoli, the minister inspected the station lavatories, admonished the administration for their unsatisfactory maintenance, and evaluated the reservation counters and drinking water amenities. He engaged with passengers on the platform, acknowledged their grievances, and directed MSRTC officials to resolve their concerns expeditiously. The minister later travelled by an ST bus along with passengers and sought feedback from them.
He announced that new buses will be added to the MSRTC fleet for the convenience of passengers in 2025.
