PUNE: Union home minister Amit Shah on Saturday said people of Maharashtra, through the assembly election verdict, gave their decision on which the real Shiv Sena and the real NCP was.
Thanking voters for electing a Mahayuti govt through a historic majority, Shah said the Narendra Modi govt at the Centre sanctioned many infrastructure projects for the state’s development. “Under leadership of CM Devendra Fadnavis and DCMs Ajit Pawar and Eknath Shinde, Mahayuti govt not only implemented these works but allocated more funds for their execution,” he said on his first visit to Pune after the assembly polls.
Shah was addressing a gathering where acceptance letters were distributed to 20 lakh beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY-rural phase 2) and the first instalment of financial assistance was transferred to accounts of 10 lakh people.
He said he remembered Rahul Gandhi questioning the Modi govt’s move to open Jan Dhan accounts. “He (Rahul) used to say you would give them accounts, but what would you transfer in them. Rahul Baba, see the miracle by Modi; 10 lakh people received money in their accounts at one click,” he said. PM Modi has set a target of 2047 to make the country a developed nation, Shah said. “It means a home for every citizen, power supply to houses, toilets, cooking cylinders, health facilities up to Rs 5 lakh, and five-kg foodgrain per person. The Modi govt is progressing towards achieving the target.”
