Maharashtra initiates stringent action to deport illegal Bangladeshis

NAGPUR: CM Devendra Fadnavis announced on Saturday that his govt has launched stringent action against illegal Bangladeshi migrants and this includes deportation from Mumbai and other parts of the state.
Talking to reporters after conclusion of the winter assembly session, Fadnavis, accompanied by deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde and other ministers, outlined key legislative achievements.
Both Fadnavis and Shinde criticised Opposition leaders, accusing them of neglecting issues related to Vidarbha, Marathwada, and other backward regions. “Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) leaders are only indulging in optics by protesting on the stairs of Vidhan Bhavan, rather than raising issues inside assembly and council. They were demanding an extension of the winter session, but were hardly present during the session,” they said. He also clarified that deputy CM Ajit Pawar visited the districts of Beed and Parbhani with his permission.
The govt passed 17 bills during the six-day session without disruptions. Highlighting infrastructure, education, and agricultural reforms, Fadnavis said, “A major highlight was the Maharashtra Public Safety Act, which was referred to a joint panel for review. This panel will interact with stakeholders, including NGOs and organisations, to incorporate their suggestions in the bill.”
The CM revealed agreements with international financial institutions like Asian Development Bank and European Investment Bank for al projects. “These agreements secured funding of Rs 3,586 crore at an interest rate of 0.72% for Nagpur Metro Phase-2 project,” he said.
Fadnavis laid emphasis on balanced regional growth through irrigation, industrial and agricultural initiatives.
