Letter writing carnival in World Trade Centre draws enthusiastic participants

MUMBAI: Daakroom, an enterprise that aims to revive the art of handwritten communication, organised its first Letter Writing Carnival in Mumbai after successful sessions in New Delhi and Allahabad. It drew enthusiastic participation from both young and old constituents.
The startup that impressed the “sharks” on Shark Tank India Season 3, organised the Letter Writing Carnival on Sat Jan 18 at World Trade Centre in Cuffe Parade.
The startup has been part of significant events with the Ministry of Culture, India Post and Govt of Odisha. It promotes letter writing through creative events, campaigns, products and workshops to “foster meaningful relationships and promote a digital detox culture“.
“The aim was to create a world where people rediscover the magic of handwritten letters for building connections and preserving a cherished cultural practice,” said co-founders Shivani Mehta and Harnehmat Kaur.
A product designer by education, Shivani promotes and practises the art of personal, handwritten communication. Her work emphasises sustainability and the tangible joy of letter writing, said Daakroom.
Meanwhile, a “designer, storyteller and narrative builder, Harnehmat’s love for letter writing and a strong belief in their relevance in today’s digital era combined with the knowledge of designing spaces, experiences and graphics comes together for Daakroom.”
