Labourer falls to his death from 16th floor

Vasai: A 48-year-old labourer died on Friday morning after falling from the 16th floor of an under-construction building site in Mira road. The FIR claimed that he was not given any safety apparatus like a harness or a safety helmet when this unfortunate event happened.
The cops have booked the contractor, Venkataiya Verkolu, under BNS section 106(1) (causing death by negligence). The complainant in this case is 24 year old Yeshu Maitri, who mentioned that his father (Vijay Maitri, 48) worked at an under construction site in Kashigaon, Mira road east. He was working on the scaffolding when he fell down and died on the spot. He was rushed to Bhimsen hospital in Bhayandar, by his fellow labourers, where he was declared dead on arrival.
