Kochi-Pune passengers of Air India Express flight stranded at Kochi airport for more than 6 hours

PUNE: More than 160 passengers on an Air India Express flight from Kochi to Pune have been waiting for more than six hours for the plane to come.
The flight (IX-2714) was scheduled to take off from Kochi at 5.20pm and land in Pune at 7.05pm. Hari Pillai, one of the passenger told TOI that while completing the security check, the airline announced that there was a delay of 2 hours.
“After 2 hours, they said that there was some technical problem and the ground staff shouldn’t say when the plane would arrive. There are close to 160 passengers and all are agitated now. At around 9pm, after heated arguments, some food and refreshments was served. Till now, that is till 11.20pm, the e are yet to board and are just waiting in the airport. There are many senior citizens on the flight and flyers are having constant heated arguments with the ground staff. We hear that a plane had arrived but don’t know when we will board,” he told TOI.
An Air India Express spokesperson was contacted in the late evening hours for the same and a reply was awaited.
