MUMBAI: Western Railway (WR) has achieved 40% progress on the Jogeshwari Terminun project, slated to open by September.
The station is expected to ease congestion at Dadar, Mumbai Central and Bandra Terminus.
Key features
- The terminus will feature one island platform capable of handling two trains simultaneously
- The terminus being constructed on the eastern side of the tracks, between Ram Mandir and Jogeshwari suburbs stations
Planned services
- Planned services Talks are on for Jogeshwari to be the terminus for trains like Teja Express and Vande Bharat.
- 600 meters platform length, to accommodate trains of up to 24.
WR’S long -term plan
WR plans to shift 12-train services from Mumbai Central and Bandra Terminus to Jogeshwari, along with introducing a free new services up-capacity at Mumbai Central and Dadur, enabling more suburban train services.
Interconnectiom Angeshwan Terminus will be accessible via Westem Express Highusay and will also be connected to (Andheri-Dhaisar, via highway and (Lokhandhwala- Vikhroli)
The new terminus is expected to help overcrowding at busy stations, make travel more convenient for passengers, and provide more services to meet the increasing demand.
