28-year-old intern doctor from Beed, Hanumant Dohiphude, died after falling from his scooter due to potholes and pebbles on the road in Ulhasnagar

KALYAN: A 28-year-old intern doctor from Beed, Hanumant Dohiphude, working in a govt-run Central Hospital in Ulhasnagar, lost control of his scooter due to potholes and pebbles on the road and died after falling on the road, on Sunday.
Police said Dohiphude’s scooter was moving at high speed, which is why the fall resulted in severe injuries to his chest. He was riding without a helmet. He was admitted to a private hospital by locals, where he died on Monday morning.
Dr Manohar Bansode, CMO, Central Hospital, said Dohiphude was a promising doctor. Even though his final exam was pending, he worked like a trained gynecologist.
Local Central police station registered an accidental death report, and further investigation is underway. Shankar Avtade, senior police inspector, said Dohiphude is survived by his wife and a six-month-old daughter.
On Monday evening after postmortem, Dohiphude’s body was taken to his native place in Beed for the last rites. Local residents expressed anger at the Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation for failing to fill potholes in the city.
