India's Got Latent row: Mumbai police issues 3rd summons to Ranveer Allahbadia

NEW DELHI: Mumbai police on Tuesday issued a third summons to Youtuber Ranveer Allahbadia, regarding the India’s Got Latent remark case.
He has been directed to report to the police station to provide his statement.
Allahabadia, facing backlash over his ‘obscene’ remark on India’s Got Latent, has been summoned by Maharashtra Police to appear on February 24 as part of the ongoing probe.
Meanwhile, the National Commission for Women (NCW) has also rescheduled hearings for Allahabadia and several other public figures, including Samay Raina, Apoorva Mukhija, and Ashish Chanchlani, after they skipped their February 17 appearance.
Many cited safety concerns, travel commitments, or logistical issues.
Allahabadia, citing death threats, requested a three-week delay, leading the NCW to move his hearing to March 6, 2025.
Mukhija, also raising security concerns, was granted a virtual appearance option, with her hearing set for the same date.
Raina, currently in the US for a tour, has assured attendance upon his return, with his hearing now on March 11. Singh, on a Paris tour, will return by March 10 and appear the next day.
Chanchlani, whose lawyer represented him due to illness, was granted a March 6 hearing. Meanwhile, Poojari and Bothra, who did not respond to the summons, have drawn NCW’s ire, prompting a reissued notice.
The controversy erupted after host Samay Raina’s show sparked outrage when Allahabadia posed an unsettling question to a contestant: “Would you rather watch your parents… or step in once to stop it forever?”
