Improve or MLAs will go from 20 to 2: Shinde to UBT

Nagpur: Dy CM Eknath Shinde, speaking in the council on Saturday as part of the govt’s reply to last week’s business of the upper house, advised Shiv Sena (UBT) to “improve” else face becoming irrelevant in electoral politics.
“I was called an unconstitutional CM and what not. It is time to stop all that,” Shinde stated. Highlighting the dwindling numbers of Shiv Sena (UBT) legislators, he remarked, “From 56 MLAs, you have just 20 now. If you do not improve now, the zero (from 20) will also go. You will be left with only two. And if your numbers decrease there (assembly) then here (council) it will create a new problem.”
Shinde said the govt’s strong mandate reflects the people’s trust and their responsibility to deliver results. “The opposition is busy making statements in front of the media rather than contributing inside the house,” he said. Shinde also took a swipe at Uddhav Thackeray without naming him. “In winter, Nagpur’s weather is like London. Hence, some people come here as tourists. They come, speak with the media, and go back,” Shinde said.
