Mumbai: Department heads and district guardian secretaries have been directed to begin the implementation of Devendra Fadnavis-led Mahayuti govt’s seven-point agenda outlined in its election manifesto.
Apart from the Ladki Bahin Scheme, where the allowance was to increase from Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,100, the Mahayuti promised relief from inflation, price stabilisation for essential items, and an increase in the old-age pension from Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,100. Farmers were promised a loan waiver, their Samman Nidhi was to increase from Rs 12,000 to Rs 15,000, and a 20% price alignment on the Minimum Support Price.
To tackle unemployment, the alliance also promised the creation of 25 lakh jobs with monthly stipends of Rs 10,000 for training 10 lakh students. Additionally, the manifesto promised investment in rural infrastructure with plans to pave roads in 45,000 villages, food security, and pucca houses.
The increase in allowance under the Ladki Bahin scheme was promised to be implemented immediately after the Mahayuti formed the govt, but for now, the govt has undertaken a scrutiny of beneficiaries to weed out those who are not eligible for the scheme.
Fadnavis has also received a presentation by all Mantralaya departments on the work that will be carried out in the next 100 days. A review will be held in April, and a presentation will be made to the cabinet on the implementation of the 100-day plan, said officials. tnn
