Mumbai: A luxury hotel in Andheri East has lodged a police complaint against the proprietor of an event management company for cheating them to the tune of Rs 1.38 lakh in dues for a New Year’s Eve (NYE) party organised at the property. Sahar Police have registered an FIR and are probing further.
On Dec 20, 2024, the hotel’s management’s inked a contract with the event management firm for the NYE party. They shared a good relationship with the firm’s proprietor as he had previously organised a Holi party and pool party at the property and had always abided by the contract.
As per the contract, the hotel was to provide the venue, meals, liquor, security and licences required, while the event management firm was to hire artists, handle production and ticket sales. Tickets were sold to 3500 people. It was decided to provide complimentary entry to another 500 people.
The FIR says that the accused paid the hotel Rs 29 lakh before the party and another Rs 11.5 lakh after the party. He did not pay Rs 1.38 lakh in dues. tnn
