A 28-year-old woman tourist from the city died while two others, including her husband, sustained injury after the vehicle they were travelling in in Himachal Pradesh was hit by boulders near Mandi on Sunday.
The woman, identified so far only as Priya, died on the spot. Her husband and the driver of their taxi were rushed to a govt hospital in Mandi. A police officer said that the couple was returning from Manali.
The entire stretch along the highway from Mandi to Pandoh is a high landslide zone. Frequent landslides and rockfalls on this stretch result in casualties.
