KALYAN: The residents of Dombivli’s 65 buildings met MP Dr Shrikant Shinde in Mumbai on Thursday. During this meeting, Shrikant stated that he would not let the people living in these 65 buildings become homeless. To fight their case, the government will appoint a separate lawyer to represent them properly in court.
Over 200 residents of these buildings met MP Dr Shinde in Mumbai. On this occasion, MP Shinde listened to the problems of the residents.
The high court ordered the Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation to demolish 65 unauthorised buildings in Dombivli. As a result, 6,500 family members in these buildings face the threat of becoming homeless.
Given this situation, the residents met MP Dr Shinde. Speaking to reporters, MP Dr Shinde said that the court had ordered the demolition of 65 buildings. When the residents bought their homes, they were deceived with false permits from ‘KDMC’ and RERA certificates. The builders should be held responsible for this, said MP Dr Shinde.
“Our priority is not to let these people become homeless. For this, we will provide a team of lawyers to the residents. Discussions are underway on how to present a new case in court,” informed MP Dr Shinde.
There is a Mahayuti government, and deputy CM Eknath Shinde manages the Urban Development Department. Therefore, the government will find a solution to this issue as soon as possible and provide relief to the residents, said MP Dr Shinde.
On another note, on Thursday, UBT leader Dipesh Mhatre alleged that despite the High Court’s demolition order, some builders of these 65 buildings are still cheating buyers. Mhatre met DCP Atul Zende on Thursday and, as evidence, gave him a registration document for one building. He requested the police to crack down on the entire gang who, despite the court order passed on 19th November last year, are still cheating buyers by selling flats.
