'Genius! Genius! Genius!': Rishabh Pant's ridiculous blitzkrieg wows fans

NEW DELHI: Swashbuckling Rishabh Pant pulled off one of the craziest knocks in Test cricket’s history at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Saturday as his fearless 33-ball 61 carnage stunned Australia on the second day.
In a miraculous display of counter-attack and stroke-play, Pant hammered the Australian bowlers left, right and centre to lift India from a precarious situation to a position of strength.
His whirlwind knock that came at a strike rate of 184.85 included 6 fours and 4 sixes as the Aussie bowlers looked clueless against the onslaught from the 27-year-old.
Although skipper Pat Cummins did manage to end Pant’s explosive knock in the final session, the innings just wowed the cricketing fans.
From commentators to pundits to fans, all doffed their hats to Pant’s pyrotechnics at the SCG.

On his way to a stunning 61-run knock, Pant also registered the second-fastest Test half-century for India off just 29 balls. The fastest fifty in Test for India is also in Pant’s name — which came off 28 balls.
At the close of play on Day 3, India had a lead of 145 runs.
Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar were in the middle when umpires called it a day.
