Former corporator booked by EOW for 4cr fraud

Vasai: Former corporator of a Vasai based local political party Arun Jadhav was booked by MBVV’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) on Feb 22 for a fraud amounting to four crores and thirty four lakhs. Even his wife has been booked in this case. This offence has been registered at Nalasopara police station by the EOW, who said that the accused have been called for further investigation with all the relevant documents. Arun had entered into a development agreement with a land owner in 2007 for developing his property located in Nalasopara west and had promised 28 flats. Over a period of time the complainant did not receive any flats as promised. Later the complainant got to know that Arun had registered all the 28 flats on his wife’s name and also availed mortgage loan on 22 of those flats amounting to 3.63 crores. Assessing the flat valuation at 15.50 lakh per flat, for 28 flats, Arun was booked for a fraud of 4.34 crores by the EOW. A senior cop at the EOW confirmed that a complaint was registered against Arun Jadhav and they have been called with the documents to the office for further questioning. Both the accused have been booked under ipc sections of cheating and criminal breach of trust.
