Vasai: The Palghar Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered an FIR against a 38-year-old Range Forest Officer (RFO) and 2 private people for demanding a bribe of 20 lakh. While the the accused (private person) fled the spot sensing trouble, police registered the FIR as they have enough proof. ACB confirmed that the house search of the RFO was on and they were looking for more clues, and ascertaining the identity of the two private persons.
The 51-year-old complainant has a plot measuring 7,000 square feet in Sasunavghar (Vasai), which was sealed by the Forest department of the Sanjay Gandhi National Park in 2007. To get this file cleared and to release the plot, RFO Sandeep Tukaram Chaure demanded 20 lakh on Nov 6. —
