Five days after being attacked, actor Saif Ali Khan was discharged from Lilavati Hospital on Tuesday. The 54-year-old actor reportedly exited the hospital from the basement, instead of the main gate, to avoid attention. Wearing a brace on his left wrist, he waved to fans gathered outside the Bandra building where he resides. Emergency surgeries were performed on Jan 16 for a deep wound on his left wrist and another on the right side of the neck. The most serious wound was on his thoracic (mid) spine, containing a nearly 3-inch knife tip. The knife missed his vertebrae by 2mm but caused spinal fluid to leak. The actor was shifted to a general room on Jan 17. Hospital COO Dr Niraj Uttamani said, “We cannot comment on his discharge. The family has told us they will provide updates in due time.” tnn
